SHARE PROJECT

EVA.jpg

The Support Humanitarian Action for Resilience and Empowerment (SHARE) initiative is part of the EU Aid Volunteers program. It gathers 16 partners in 11 different countries to send volunteers with relevant experience in organisations implementing humanitarian or development projects in sensitive areas.

The main objective of the project is to strengthen the capacities of the hosting organisations to foster resilience within local communities facing distress. Each volunteer is previously trained to intervene in humanitarian contexts and is then deployed for a period of 6-12 months. The project comprises a daily support on organisational management like project development, accountability, or advocacy issues for example; training sessions to reinforce the hosting organisation's capacities and dissemination events to promote volunteering and international exchanges.

To date, GDCA hosted 3 EU Aid Volunteers from France sent by the french organisation ADICE. They have been working on human resources, fundraising, communication and micro-finance projects among other topics. Those volunteers bring a new perspective on organisational and projects development and benefit from field trips, training and sharings from the GDCA teams.

The project is ending at the end of 2022. Future volunteers from another program, the European Solidarity Corps initiative, will come to replace the current EU Aid Volunteers in GDCA.
