The Executive Director of Ghana Developing Communities Association (GDCA), Alhaji Osman Abdel-Rahman, who doubles as the Programme Manager of E4L Programme, has been nominated among 19 prominent personalities such as Dr. Mohammed Ibn Chambas, the United Nations Special Representative of the Secretary-General for West Africa and the Sahel, Sheikh Dr. Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, Ghana’s National Imam and Archbishop Philip Naameh, Catholic Archbishop of Tamale in the Humanitarianism and Diplomacy category of 100 MIPs project.

Rudder Communications (RudCom) and SavannahNewsOnline.Com are implementing this human capital development project to inspire young people to attain their goals as they read the life stories of successful and influential people who hail from the same geographical area.

In all, 200 personalities were nominated for various categories. Out of this, the public are expected to vote for their favorites to be part of the 100 winners. More than 10 winners can emerge from any category depending on the votes. This implies that the overall votes determine who become part of the winning team but not necessary who tops a category. Biographies of the winners will be published and distributed in basic schools in the all the regions in the north to encourage children and youth to model their lives around the success stories of these great achievers.

According to the implementing organisations of the project, while honouring these great people from northern Ghana, the project will also promote reading culture among young persons.
